As many of you probably know, I live in Grand Rapids and I love the city. That being said, I am so excited that the city is pushing very hard for Google Fiber to come here. I think it would be an amazing boost for the ‘Medical Mile’ and all the other local, growing businesses in the downtown area.

DROID OTA Update

The DROIDFor those of you that know me, you know that I am crazy about my Motorola Droid.  I love the Android software, so much so that I am doing some development on it to try and improve the community.

When the Nexus One was released, I was incredibly jealous of Android 2.1.  I had just bought my Droid, thinking that it would be the best one for a long time, and then the Nexus comes out with it’s fancy new interface.

Good news: The Droid has good enough hardware to run the software upgrade and Motorola has given a release schedule!

Bad news: How soon is ‘the near future’

But I still care about this. School and trying to find a job after graduation have been taking up a lot of my time. I haven’t forgotten about my LinDroid project, but with the Linode.com team releasing an iPhone app, I have to talk to them about the legality of my app.

Don’t worry, I will try to update more as the year goes on, I got a lot of stuff to talk about.

It’s finally happening.   It has been a long busy year with school and work, but I got the website into a state that I like.  I will try to update it as much as possible to keep you guys informed.
